Australian Visa

Any one who is not an Australian Citizen coming to Australia needs to apply for an entry visa. What type of visa you apply for depends on which country you are a citizen of and if you want to work during your stay. People For People are unable to help you in your request for a visa but you can contact the Australian Embassy situated in your country or checkout their website :

www.immi.gov.au

You may be eligible for a working visa if you:

  • hold a valid UK, Irish, Canadian, Dutch, Maltese, Korean, German or Japanese passport. Applicants from other countries may still be eligible through exchange programs or other grounds.
  • aged between 18 and 30.
  • have no children.
  • have enough money to return home or you hold a return ticket
  • do not intend to stay in Australia any longer than granted
  • show a healthy bank balance - around 2000 pounds
  • not had a working visa before
  • have the intention of travelling around and not holding down a job for no longer than 3 months.

Other conditions may also apply as to whether or not you are eligible to receive a visa for Australia. If for example you have a criminal record or health problems you may need to go through special procedures. The important thing is to plan in advance and give yourself plenty of time to sort out any problems that may arise.
